FAQ’s

What is FoodTech Qld?
FoodTech Qld launched in 2016 as a new trade event that brought together Queensland’s food and beverage manufacturers with suppliers to the industry to do business. The event was a showcase of cutting edge manufacturing technology, plant equipment, food science and safety and food packaging.

When is the exhibition open?
Dates and times for the next edition is to be confirmed – so stay tuned.

Where was the 2016 exhibition held?
The exhibition was held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, which is located at corner of Merivale Road and Glenelg Street, South Bank, Brisbane.

Who can attend?
FoodTech Qld is a strictly trade only event. Entry is restricted to professionals in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Proof of business identification may be requested. Tertiary students with valid student ID will be admitted.

Can students attend?
Students enrolled in a relevant food science or food manufacturing/supply chain course at a tertiary level, as well as registered food industry apprentices, may attend the show if they have the appropriate student identity card. Students need to be mindful this is a business event and need to be respectful of exhibitors and their time. Exhibitors are here to engage in business opportunities. Please be considerate of their time and also promotional material and samples available.

Can I bring my family?
As this is a business event for those people working in the industry, we ask visitors not to bring anyone under the age of 15 to the show. The exception is infants under one year old that cannot be separated from their primary caregiver. If you bring an infant we strongly recommend that you carry them in a baby harness due to crowds (strictly no prams allowed at the show).

Are there child-minding facilities?
No. If you are traveling from interstate we suggest you organise a baby-sitter through your hotel or by looking up ‘Baby Sitters’ in the Yellow Pages.

Do I need a Visa for Australia?
Most international visitors will require a Visa to enter Australia. Applications need to be made well in advance at the Australian Consulate in your own country or in some cases can be made online. For more information visit the Australian Government Immigration site.

Can you provide me with an invitation letter so I can apply for a visitor visa?
It is not our company policy to provide invitation letters to visitors wishing to attend our shows. For more information on what to do you are best to visit the Department of Immigration website.

Will I need to bring identification with me?
Yes. Proof of industry involvement may be requested at the registration counters or the entrance. We suggest you bring along a business card, invoice or company documentation along with personal identification such as a drivers licence or passport.

When do registrations open?
Registrations for FoodTech Qld will open closer to the next event.

How many exhibitors are there?
There were more than 200 exhibitors showcasing food and beverage manufacturing technology at the show in 2016. FoodTech Qld 2016 attracted exhibitors from Queensland, other Australian states, and overseas. Browse the Exhibitor List.

Can you tell me if a particular company exhibited in 2016?
View the FoodTech Qld 2016 Exhibitor Directory and Floor Plan to see if your preferred supplier was at the show.
